My “WHY” is service. I love being able to not only serve our children but also families and the community. I strive daily for every child to feel safe, cared for, and loved. Being able to invest in them and build meaningful relationships is so rewarding. I truly love C4K and our mission to change lives one child at a time. The Coalition is such a great place to be and I want to be here all of my days. “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

C4K is a place for me to be a light and an influencer. It gives me the opportunity to plant seeds in young lives. I love teaching life lessons and walking with kids through hard situations...sometimes its life or just growing up. When they get older and stop in for a visit, it's the..."Mr. CP was right, I understand now" for me. What I do is bigger then the now it's the future for these kids. You win some, you lose some. But you live, you live to fight another day.

I spent 13 years in public education before choosing a new direction—one that led me to Coalition For Kids. I felt a strong pull to do something different, something more personal. I wanted to connect with kids in a way that wasn’t about test scores or data. I wanted to give them love, a safe place, a meal, and the encouragement to keep going.
Since joining C4K, it hasn’t felt like work at all. It’s been fun, meaningful, and fulfilling every single day.
One quote I live by is from Winston Churchill: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” That’s what I try to give our kids—courage, confidence, and the belief that they matter.

Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter said, “ If God took the trouble to tell us 800 times to be glad and rejoice, He must want us to do it some.” Happiness and joy is what I try to bring everyday to my children. If that means dressing up as a pirate, digging up dinosaur bones or throwing a glow stick dance party, I will do it. I want every child to feel the joy and gladness of the Lord. There is so much in the world to be negative about my mission is to bring the joy and help them see the world through the eyes of positivity.

Looking back, when I was younger, the need to have a role model willing to give real-life advice and guidance is why I C4K. Now, every day, I’m in a position of helping kids become the best they can be, reaching their full potential. Assisting others, even in the small or behind the scenes moments is what I strive for. One thing I will say about working with kids is they will teach you just as much as you will teach them. I enjoy the quote “when one door closes, another opens” reminds me never to give up, be patient for the next best thing.

Being a parent is hard. As a Mom of two kids, I gladly accepted any help that was offered as my kids were growing up. I am very blessed to have family that lives nearby BUT, not all working parents have that support system. Working in the schools for over fifteen years I witnessed many hardworking families who needed someone else to be their for their children. So, as said in the movie Robots, “See a need. Fill a need ”. That’s why I became part of the Coalition For Kids team, to help show love to more than just the children, but to an entire community.

So here's the thing, I was never planning on working with children. Coming from a family full of teachers I was told never be a teacher, but something in my heart always pushed back. I took the position of tutor hoping it would convince me not to teach...it did the exact opposite. I love being able to show up for these kids! Showing them they are loved, safe, and needed. No matter what chaos arises in their lives or what their day looked like, they will always be welcomed with open arms and a listening ear.

Philippians 4:13—"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"—has been the foundation of my life and my work. I truly believe that with faith and God’s strength, anything is possible.
At Coalition For Kids, my heart is to create a Christ-centered space where kids feel safe, loved, and encouraged. I want every child to know they matter, they’re capable, and they are never alone.
My mission is simple: to walk alongside these kids, help them grow, and remind them that through Christ, they really can do all things.

Growing up in a single-parent home, I struggled with self-worth and learning how to love myself. I never imagined I’d work with kids—but being at Coalition For Kids has changed my life.
Every day, I get to love on students who are going through things I’ve been through myself. It pulls at my heart because I remember what that felt like. I want to be the person I needed at that age—someone who shows up, listens, and reminds them they are loved, not just by us, but by Jesus.
One verse I carry with me is Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” That’s my mission—to guide our kids with love and faith.

Working with children is one of the greatest joys of my life. I love watching them grow—not just academically, but emotionally, spiritually, and in confidence. Helping a child go from struggling to thriving is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
I also believe in walking alongside families, offering support and encouragement through every step of their journey. A child’s emotional well-being is at the heart of it all, and I make that a priority every day.
I feel truly blessed to do this work at Coalition For Kids. As I always say, “To truly support a child is to listen with your heart, guide with wisdom, and believe in who they can become.”

As a Site Director, I get to combine my background in childcare and mental health with my passion for helping kids feel safe, supported, and understood. Being a mom has shaped the way I lead—with compassion, patience, and a calm presence that lets kids know they’re in a space where they can be themselves.
I want every child who walks through our doors to feel seen and valued. Whether I’m helping with homework or just sitting and listening, my goal is to be a steady, positive presence in their day.
“Every child deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported — that’s where true growth begins.” That’s what I try to create every day at Coalition.

As a Site Director at Coalition For Kids, I have the privilege of supporting and guiding students in the community I call home. What began as a part-time job turned into so much more—a place where I’ve found purpose, personal growth, and the opportunity to make a real difference.
Since joining Coalition in February 2021, I’ve grown both professionally and personally. I’ve seen how powerful consistent love and support can be in a child’s life, and that’s what drives me every day. I’m passionate about helping students lead with kindness, believe in themselves, and understand that they are so much more than their worst moments. It’s not always easy—but it’s always worth it.

I’ve been surrounded by kids my whole life, and I’ve always loved working with them—so being part of Coalition For Kids has been an absolute joy. What makes this work so special is the chance to be a light in these kids’ lives, to meet them where they are, and to love them like Jesus would.
One quote that really speaks to my heart is from Forest E. Witcraft:
“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”
That’s why I do what I do—to make a difference that truly matters.
