We are able to walk our Coalition kids through this season of their lives, teaching them that they need to do the best they can (study hard, pay attention in class, complete their homework) and leave the rest in God’s hands. Naturally, we do hope they succeed well academically, but just as they are transferring their anxiety to school work, we pray they are able to transfer the advice we give them regarding academics- into their real world, tough situations.
“Even if we do all the ‘right’ things, sometimes things can and will go wrong…pray.”
I have focused this past month on teaching the students that we oftentimes have choices that we can make in a situation that can make things better or worse for us. However, sometimes even if we do all the “right” things, things can and will go wrong. It breaks my heart to know that everyday students are faced with home lives and circumstances that no child should ever have to deal with. On the other hand, I am grateful that God has allowed Coalition For Kids to thrive and grow, so that a child can hear words of peace and comfort, and know that when life is hard, God has promised that he will be there to help us through.
