Community Kids Activities Club - CKAC
Community Kids Activity Club is a a daily summer program offering recreational and educational activities and weekly field trips. The children enjoy a free breakfast and lunch at the community center and participate in activities designed to reinforce positive behavior. Each grade also works on a volunteer projects that gives them the opportunity to give back to the community.
In addition, the older children have career days to learn about different types of jobs available and to learn how important it is to finish their education. Relationships are built during organized free time and clubs with kids and staff.
This program provides the children and youth with a "safe place" and activities during months when many children and youth are not supervised through school or at home.

The Basics
Who?
Children entering the 1st grade through entering the 7th grade.
What?
The Coalition For Kids' Summer Program, Community Kid's Activity Club (CKAC).
When?
CKAC will begin on June 1st and continue through July 23rd. The program will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where?
The Rock Community Center, 2308 Watauga Road, Johnson City, TN 37601
Why?
We want your children to have a fun, safe, and affordable way to spend their summer!
Activities include:
- Week long summer camps are scholarshiped through Buffalo Mountain Camp and Appalachian Christian Camp
- Field trips to Legion Street Pool
- Mama Graham sharing Bible stories through flannel graphs
- Field trips are also taken to such places as Bays Mountain, Knoxville, Zoo, and Wetlands Water Park
Registration in CKAC averages 150 children. You can sponsor a child today for as little as $50 per month.
