"I have found that most volunteers who come to serve do so thinking they are helping someone else's life. The Bible says that it is more blessed to give than to receive. It is rare to find someone who volunteers from their heart who would not agree that even though they came to serve someone they leave feeling like they have been blessed. A child touches their heart and opens them up for the first time to see life and the volunteer has been made a better person. As people reach out to touch others and help change lives, especially children, they have no ability to recognize the tremendous influence they have over the entire world. As one child's life is changed because of caring hands they touch another and they touch another and eventually through the first one the world has changed and no one knew it was the volunteer at the community center that started it.
