A New Addition to the Coalition Family!!
Principal Amy Stover called in October and asked for a meeting to discuss the possibility of beginning a program at South Side Elementary School. We met and I listened to her needs. She has a Hispanic population that she would like to offer some additional after school services. The school already offers some tutoring, but she would like us to support that. We are to begin this in January, as the Board of Directors has approved this direction as the being in line with our stategic plan. Praise the Lord for more opportunity to reach children where they have needs; a mentor, time from a caring adult, after school hours, homework and love.
--- Randy Hensley, Executive Director

Amistades-El Club Tarea
Amistades was began in April 2003, by a group of people who felt God calling then to help native Spanish speakers adapt to the language and cultural differences they face daily.
The group determined forming Amistades (friendships) was the most effective way to provide this aid while seeking to help immigrants to become self sufficient.and also fulfilling the second great command of God "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Luke 10:27. As of Septemeber 2006, to better serve, El Club Tarea is now within Cherokee School

Tae Kwon Do
This partnership gives the children a chance to learn skills that can last a lifetime, inside and outside of the ring.
The Dance Co.
Children naturally love to move, and need to move. Through dance, we will help children express and channel their emotions in a right way, and give them positive assistance towards developing into adults who have a natural ability to express their joy. This partnership gives the children a chance to learn skills that they might not be exposed to otherwise. The Dance Co. volunteers dedicate their love and time to teach weekly dancing classes.
